2011 Hometown Hero Contest Details

We hope you will consider entering the Home Town Hero Contest 2011. This year's contest will be on inspiration stories of individuals who have gone out of their way to make someone's life easier in a time of need. By sharing your story, you can provide others with insight that everyday heroes exist. Perhaps your story will inspire other individuals to do the same, making this world a better place.

Submission Dates
Submissions will be accepted from August 16, 2011 - September 16, 2011.

Judging Criteria
Judging will be based on the impact of submissions.
"Full" as opposed to "limited," personal information permission will NOT be a factor in judging.

Award

Winners Notification & Announcement
Winners will be notified by e-mail on/before September 16, 2011 and will be publically announced September 20th. (Please make sure that all contact information is entered correctly on your submission form.)

Winners submissions will be posted, on www.xcaper.com, Xcaper's Page on Facebook as well as Xcaper's Twitter page, Xcaper's Page on Care2, and if applicable Xcaper's YouTube page, on September 20, 2011 or later.

Prior to Entry
Please carefully read the contest Submission Guidelines and Ownership and Rights of Use below before submitting your story. Please note that, by submitting your story, you are indicating that you have read, and consent, to all terms outlined in both the Submission Guidelines and Ownership and Rights of Use.

Submission Guidelines
We encourage individuals to tell their story in the way they are most comfortable with.

Participants must be willing to publicly self-identify themselves and if they chose to include individuals in their story, those individuals must be willing to do so as well.

All submissions must be received on/before September 16, 2011.

Ownership and Use of Rights
Xcaper will obtain full and exclusive ownership of all (not just winning) entries. Stories may be used in any variety of ways including, but not limited to placement on Xcaper's websites, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Care 2 pages.

Contest participants grant Xcaper the right to use limited personal information in promotional materials (Karen W., San Diego, CA, would be an example using limited personal information.) But we encourage all entrants, to grant permission to use their full name, as it would increase audience impact.

No entries will be returned.

Xcaper will post select entries on their website(s), including, but not limited to, Xcaper.com as well as their pages on Facebook, Twitter, Care2 and or Youtube. All entries posted on any Xcaper's website or pages on social networks will receive name credit. Please note, however, that submission does not guarantee posting or use by Xcaper Industries.
